States that still tax groceries at either full or reduced rates include Alabama, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, South Dakota, Tennessee and Utah. Most states dont have general a sales tax on groceries, though many local communities do.
